Everything for Your Pet!

Helping Others

Helping hands and paws helps the whole world. Here are a few ways you can help both animals and their people around the country and the world.
.

Don't forget, you can help the animals and people of earthquake devastated Haiti by clicking on the links on the SuperPetLife homepage.

The Animal Rescue Site functions on a simple premise, they have lots of businesses who pay to advertise on The Animal Rescue Site.
When you click, The Animal Rescue Site display ads from their site sponsors. 100% of the money from these advertisers goes to our charity partners , who fund programs to provide food and care for rescued animals.

The Animal Rescue Site store also gives a portion of every purchase to our charity partners. You can even help by sending free e-cards from the site. Of course, they take donations too.

If you want to stay closer to home, head over to petfinder.com and look up your local shelters and rescue groups. They can always use extra help, especially during these tough economic times.

There are lots of groups around the country who are giving help to those in need to care for their pets. At this difficult time, people are often forced to choose between feeding their pets and feeding their children. These groups help by offering free food and veterinary services to families so they can keep their pets. If you can, this is a great way to help others. You can read more about these groups or find one to donate to in my Detroit Dogs Examiner article, "Michigan and national groups are working to help people keep their pets."

All Creatures ULC

In all of the world’s great faiths, we are taught that we, as humans, are stewards of the wonders of Creation. It is a serious responsibility, and with it, can come great joy and self-discovery.

Some people criticize the amount and cost of care given to pets. People are more important, they say. Care for poor people instead of poodles. And certainly our needy fellow humans should not be neglected.

However, we believe every creature is important. The love we give to a pet, and receive from a pet, can draw us more deeply into the larger circle of life, into the wonder of our common relationship to our Creator.

“If dogs don’t go to heaven, then when I die, I want to go where they went.” ~ Will Rogers

All Creatures ULC provides an array of services including pet blessings, naming and birthing ceremonies, adoption celebrations, pet loss grief support, memorial services, prayers for animals who are sick or injured, and many other services.

We will come to a clinic or hospital to comfort the bereaved, hold hands (and hearts) during surgery or euthanasia, and perform pet memorial services at your home, in a park, or anywhere else you choose.

We have pets of our own, and have a sincere compassion for the difficult times pet owners experience and the lack of understanding people sometimes face concerning their beloved pets.

Rev. Claudia Barber, Pastor
Rev. Arleen S. Barber, Associate Pastor

“Man’s fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath, man has no advantage over the animal.
Ecclesiastes 3:19

“But now ask the beasts to teach you, and the birds of the air to tell you; or the reptiles on the earth to instruct you, and the fish of the sea to inform you. Which of all these creatures does not know that the hand of God has done this. In His hand is the soul of every living thing, and the life breath of all.” Job 12:7-10
