About Me
I was born in Detroit, Michigan 55 years ago and have lived in Michgan most of my life. I spent three years in San Diego attending San Diego City College with a Fine Arts major. When I returned to Michigan, I became a graphic designer, working predominately in the printing industry. I still work in the printing industry as a contractor, but after all the problems with pet food recalls, I switched from graphic design to working with Trilogy, makers of HealthyPetNet premium, holistic pet food, treats and supplements. I also sell Petlane pet products, Petlane's products are some of the best in the country and are all tested and certified in an independent lab before being offered for sale.
I spend several weekends in the Spring and Fall doing various craft and vendor shows around the area. I spend all summer in my garden and all winter in my pyrography studio. I sell my professional pet portraits on both my SuperPetLife website and my Claudia's Creations website. Other hobbies include painting, drawing, reading, gardening, and, in the Fall and Winter, watching football and hockey. I was ordained as a minister in January 2003. My hope is to open a spiritual center with the goal of having pets and their people explore spirit together. We hope to hold regular weekly meetings as well as other events to explore the human / animal spiritual bond. Check out the All Creatures ULC website for more info.
I live in the Metro Detroit area with my partner of 20 years, Arleen, my three crazy dogs, Tootsie, Dinky and Muffin, five Budgies (Pippin, Sapphire, Skipper, Sammie, and Max), and one Lovebird named Dusty Beaker. There are also various foster dogs coming and going through the house, so needless to say, life is full!

How I Got Started
All of my sweet fur babies eat Life's Abundance premium health food and treats. When I switched my dogs to Life's Abundance Premium Dog Food nine months ago, I admit, I was skeptical. They were already eating what I thought was a good quality dog food (Nutro Max). But the difference in my dogs since the switch is AMAZING!
My 14-year old Shih Tzu, Dinky, is acting like a puppy again. Before, he spent most of his time sleeping—now he's the first one to the door for a walk! The fact that he has a serious heart murmur and sometimes has problems with his lungs doesn't seem to matter. As a matter of fact, my vet thinks the food has helped him live longer and stay healthier. I don't know for sure how much longer he has to live, but he's sure having fun!!
One day as I left the Dog Park, someone actually asked me if my 10-year old Spaniel/Collie mix, Toot sie, is a puppy because she acts and looks like one. I was speechless! Everyone is doing so much better, I can hardly believe it. It's like having brand new, younger, healthier dogs!
Once I started selling Life's Abundance, I wanted to expand to include pet toys and grooming and cleaning products. I found Petlane and, as they say, the rest is history.
With Petlane, I can now offer my clients toys, treats, grooming, and house cleaning supplies for their pets. Petlane even has bird stuff for my sweet tweets!
And all of Petlane's toys and other items are checked for lead and other toxins to keep your cat, dog, and bird safe. An added advantage is that if you have small children (the kind who put everything in their mouth), these toys are safe for them too! Of course, I don't recommend you let your kids chew on your dogs' toys, but....

My Fur Kids
Below are pictures of my fur kids. All of them own a piece of my heart and always will.
Bentley left us in November. We got him when he was 5 1/2 weeks old. He was 16 1/2 when he left us. We raised him and his sister, Gypsy after being mid-wives for their mom. Gypsy passed away in February 2007 of a brain tumor.
Tootsie is a 9-year old Spaniel/Collie mix I rescued from a shelter. She was on her last day. She is a really super dog and I'm glad to share her life. She's my soulmutt.
Dinky (full name Dinky Dao) is a 13-year old purebred Shih Tzu. I got him off craigslist.org. He is such a character! We enjoy his antics every day.
Muffin is a 4-year old Cocker Spaniel I fostered for the rescue I work with. Actually, I only "fostered" her for about 10 hours—then I called the rescue and adopted her. She is really a sweetheart!
In addition to all my own fur babies, I also foster dogs for Metro Area Animal Adoption Association. I also drive rescue transport for several rescue groups in the Metro area. It's the best I can do to help other animals out there since I can't keep them all
If you're looking for another fur member of your family, please consider adopting. Even if you want a purebred dog, you can often find one that needs a new home. You'd be surprised how many pure breed dogs and cats are homeless. For more info, check out Petfinder.com. |

My Feathered Flock
Below are pictures of my feathered kids. All of them own a piece of my heart and always will.
Pippin is my first Budgie. She is also my best flyer. I originally was told she was a he, thus the name Pippin (from The Lord of the Rings). Later, we discovered "he" was a "she," but by then, the name had stuck. Her nickname is Pippi.
Skipper was originally found outside. He was rescued by a lady who later gave him to me. He is a very special and beautiful bird, sometimes called a "rainbow Budgie." He is a wonderful singer and mimics several species of birds. He also says "pretty bird."
Max is one of two birds I got from my daughter-in-law. When her family decided to cut down on the birds, I got them. They are beautiful singers.
 Sammie is Max's brother. He is soooooooo beautiful!
Dusty Rosee (Beaker) is my Lovebird. She is the daughter of my former Lovie, Rosee (we thought he was a girl  ). He was killed by his mate, but not before having Dusty and three other chicks. The breeder let me have one of his chicks. She is definitely a girl and very spoiled! She's grown into a beautiful peach-faced Lovebird, just like her dad.
I hope to have some pictures of Zippy soon. He is the newest addition to the feathered family.
